I am a contemporary artist living and working in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. I have formal training in several artistic media and am attending university to explore current movements in art and re-assess my artistic practice. I feel equally at home with a variety of media, and find it difficult to settle on one material as a medium of expression.
I have been making art most of my adult life – as an art school student (VSA 1971), a potter, a student of Art History (UVic MA 1993), and most recently, a painter. I also worked as an art specialist in the public school system. Retirement brought me full circle, and I am back at university (CapilanoU) studying art again – this time learning how art has changed over the years, and where I fit into the picture.
I am interested in the environment and the effect that humans have on the earth. I hope to express my feelings around this topic in my work, tempered with my appreciation for the beauty of life on this exquisite planet.
